Rajastan!

once we cross from the state of Uttar Pradesh into Rajasthan, things are TOTALLY DIFFERENT! there still be a bit of touts, there still be people coming to see Hope Too. But these people do not do it the Uttar Pradesh way. i see Rajasthan as a better and richer state. the kids do not come to you and ask for money instead they would say hello to u. the grown up have their own business to care about and they 'mind their own business'. they still see us for a second and the smile is much more genuine. suprisingly, hotel and guest houses here are more cheaper and better than in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Udaipur is known as the most romantic city in india. we had yet to explore the town as the journey today from Pushkar is about 280km, taking a hard 6hours. Pushkar is a very small village but known thro out the world for it's camel festival in November. thou people and place are much nicer, today's oncoming vehicle is very aggresive. trucks head on towards your direction, forcing Hope Too's brake smoking and my feet trying hard to reach for the ground. there are some parts of the highway where there is no road shoulder and the opposite truck is overtaking the vehicle infront, coming straight towards us, leaving us with only 1 foot of clearance space.

gotta sleep early tonight. going to the lake with Sam tomorrow to watch the romantic sunrise!

Rajastan! Udai[ur! The romantic desert city!

Do take some pictures of the forts and palaces there! And the regal turbans of the Rajputs and Maharajahs!

You're going to enjoy India a lot more as you head North. But it might still be cold! Do visit Amritsar and the Golden Temple and the Indo-Pakistan border at Wagah.

And yes, I'll be glad to down some cold ones once u're back. Would love to hear your tales. Till then, ride far and wide, my friend!

thks brifusg. we did have a beautiful sunset in the lake, where the james bond movie octopussy is shot.
BN: amritsar is my itenery as i watch the show Ghandi, there are many people killed there. indo paki border show oso not to be missed

pplater, the riding jacket i bought in singapore comes with a winter inner liner, it works here! back in singapore, when we think of wearing a jacket is only to go for midnight movie. rite?

Heh... I just noticed all the 10 comments on the privious posts. For all the flak u are taking now, I can imagine how it might affect your morale. I for one will choose to support u for the guts u exhibit in daring to go on a tight budget. For all the complaints u made, and for all that others criticised you when u are not posting what a public space demands, that is, politically correct niceties and positive things, I will applaud u for daring to go, where all your critiques thus far do not dare. While everyone including me expects positive viewpoints, I respect that u have the right to post what u wish to talk about. This is your freedom, and no one shall that away from you, but it might affect your blog viewership of course. U are the second couple to attempt this. The previous one gave up back in 95 or 96 after 1 1/2 otr. Beer on me when u are back. Cheers.

hi pplater: i would want to have some stout from u. we are saving much by cooking our own meals. we do miss the stout back at spore.

at rajastan, people r totally different. it's the best place to travel in india.

we took ur encouragement seriously and it helped us alot. tks many many.
